Pins are gone!!

I am pin-free and proud of it. And it really wasn't bad. All that worry for nothing - and I couldn't be happier. The first one slid out so quick and easy it just felt a little weird. The second slid out a little and then the ball came off the end. He had to grip the end of the pin a little harder with the pliers and tug a moment or two, but ( Read more... )

That's great news!! Hopefully your arm will heal up quickly! I imagine you are very happy to soon have two function hands and arms to work with again. :D

ETA: Just saw the pic of the pins in your arm. Yowza! They are huge! Now I'm even more happy that you are rid of them.

I am so happy right now. My arm is horribly sore where the pins were, but that's okay because I know it will soon pass. Now I just need to suck it up and really bear down in therapy.

I never realized the pain and stiffness hung around so long. I guess I figured when the break healed, most of the pain went away. Wake up call. But I can deal now that things are finally starting to improve. The doc wants me to be able to make a fist when I go back in 4 weeks, so I have my work cut out for me.

Oh, and the pins look really huge coming out of your arm!!

I have followed the story of your arm injury and am glad to see there is an end in sight for you. It sounds like quite the ordeal. It must be tiring, too, dealing with the chronic pain and discomfort you have had. You sound really committed to the therapy, and I wish you all the best for your remaining recovery.

Yikes on the pins. I had imagined something much smaller.

Thanks. I'm finally seeing the swelling go down and getting movement in my fingers. Ater weeks of no improvement I am so happy. Sometimes I was so miserable and frustrated I would just sit and cry. It felt like it would never get better. My wrist has been hurting as bad as right after I broke it since they pulled the pins, but it's easier to put up with because I'm so much closer to the end and I know this will go away in a few days ( ... )
