Man, your comment reminded me of something I meant to put in the story. Oh well, it wasn't a big deal. It was just John thinking this alliance might prove as fruitful and committed as the one with the Athosians.

Thank you. I love the h/c but I do love some humor in there as well. And I'm glad you enjoyed Nick. I've been missing him so I took this opportunity to give him a small appearance. Poor John, he does manage to find trouble doesn't he? I can't imagine how that happens (whistles innocently).

Fun, well written story and great use of the photo prompt. What a great mix: an encounter with an interesting new culture, a fearsome creature, a mighty act of bravery by John, and a new opportunity to make fun of Rodney.

Thank you!! I have to admit, I got an awesome photo to work with and that made the story lots of fun to write. I also enjoyed trying to come up with the new culture. I wish I'd had more time to explore that aspect a little more. Maybe John and team can come back and visit for another story sometime. Then Rodney could visit with his new friend!!

Loved this! You did a really good job creating a very believable culture. Of course, the whumping was great, and the Rodney teasing was an extra bonus.

Many thanks!! I'm so glad you enjoyed!! I actually had everything down to the last scene written before school started, so I was thinking I would be posting in mid-August. Then I got really stuck on that last scene and so busy I didn't really have time to figure it out until recently. I'm just glad I finally finished it.

I'll be around for a while. I'm still a hopeless SGA fan. Nothing else measures up in my book.
