Lovely. Another great story by you. I loved that Sheppard "nearly" rescued himself.
The story is really descriptive. You have such a way with language. You feel as if you're there with poor Shep in that awful tunnel, fighting for his life. Wonderful job.

Thank you so much!! I was a little worried after I finished that it was too wordy. I spent many years reading Stephen King and he's very, very descriptive. I liked reading his stories because I could almost feel and see the events. I guess I unconsciously strive for that same amount of detail, just not with anywhere near his degree of success. Which is why he gets paid to write and I don't (LOL)!!

Anyhow, thank you very much and I'm thrilled you liked the story!!

I thoroughly enjoyed your story. I especially liked the way you handled the Elizabeth-John pairing and the way you had John save himself by killing the Wraithenstein while it was getting ready to eat him. Thanks for sharing this fun post-Christmas present.

Thank you!! I'm glad the John/Elizabeth pairing worked out okay. I haven't written much beyond gen, so it was a little new to me. I always see John as trying to rescue himself if at all possible and this time it was kind of necessary!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

*Shiver* A satisfyingly creepy bad guy, still giving me the willies after a couple days! Wraithenstein was awesome. And poor John, having to fight it while concussed and broken. Loved how he fought through the injuries and managed to get himself out of the real trouble, though you kept the suspense up throughout and even after the others found him, I wasn't certain that it wouldn't jump out at them for one last snarl ;-)

John picking out jewelry for Elizabeth was darling and Teyla's "in the know" hints were great. I liked Elizabeth's realization where she understood that the price of loving John was constant fear for him. You painted a bittersweet moment that paralleled John's own musings about his love for the Pegasus galaxy.

I think my favorite, though, was John hyping up Lorne as a maniac revenge-seeking force! Would have loved to seen the look on Darien's face when he introduced himself.

Happy sigh! and so glad you're writing!

Hey, it's so good to hear from you! I really had some fun with this one. I think the moment I thought to call it Wraithenstein was my favorite. Man, I wish I'd thought to have a rabbit pop up and run out as John was being rescued - that would have been awesome. By the time I got that far I was just thinking "you have to finish, you have to finish".

Yeah, the Lorne thing was fun too. I kind of wanted to play off that when he got back, but once again - time was my enemy. Many, many thanks!!!!

Urgh, what a horrible monster! Poor Sheppard kidnapped and put out as entree for the Thing in the tunnels. It's also tough being the boss and not coming back to give your sweetheart her present! Great story, team, descriptions and Elizabeth and Carson were there too -yay!

My heart is still with Carson and Elizabeth so I'll take any chance to include them. I will always believe writing them out was a mistake that was the beginning of the end.

Glad you "liked" my monster (LOL). Poor John does have the worst luck, doesn't he. Thank you so much and I'm glad you enjoyed!!

Yay! Christmas in January for me :). I loved your voices, the team-iness (like Teyla assuring Rodney that they're family), and John soldiering on and rescuing himself in a sense. I still can't picture Elizabeth and John together in my head, but I thought their interaction was touching and believable!

Thank you very much!! I actually like John and Elizabeth together, although I think more people prefer him with Teyla. I'm a little more open to that than I used to be. For a long time I saw them more as a brother/sister relationship. I've read some pretty good John/Teyla stories though, so I'm coming around. I still prefer writing gen, so I'm glad my John/Elizabeth wasn't totally horrible (LOL). I was worried I couldn't pull it off.
