i've never been able to figure out what it is that people really enjoy about people-watching. granted, we all take advantage of it and do it whether we like it or not. think about it - curiosity delays on the interstate when you pass an accident. zoning out in the park when we have five minutes and nothing else to distract us. sitting in traffic at a light, watching the people pass by. it amazes me just how much time we spend focusing our attention on people we will probably never see again. you're certainly not the only one. i'm the same way sometimes ... i don't like to draw attention to myself, and i really don't like it when i know i have imperfections that people could probably focus on more than i'd ever want them to. but sometimes, i suppose, we just have to live through it - because like all those people we gawk at, we'll soon be forgotten too.

in ten days i will be a resident of your fair nutmeg/constitution state. scary! (but awesome.) come visit.

I actually recently started to "people watch" b/c I got tired of people telling my that I was totally oblivious to everything going on around me, to the point that I don't even notice when someone I know passes by me on the street. What is weird is that I started to notice how many weird imperfections and habits everyone has. Also, speaking as someone who worked at the GW gym for 4 years, almost every girl has a mushroom-top in gym shorts. Elastic and waste lines are just a bad combo!

well, strangely, that is comforting.

i do honestly really enjoy people watching. more often than not, you see good things rather than bad. asian guy walking down the street in the same shaide of grey from head to toe... saw that yesterday, and it actually made me really happy to know that he must have totally bought them as a combo. i've also seen women walking bunnies as if they were dogs and people who have no idea that their shirt is on inside-out.
