((I already made this post, but I'm moving it here, because Slade made a very relevant reply. So, sorry for repeating myself- by the way, is our Terra here
( Read more... )
Slade slid open the shutter on Beast Boy's cell, shaking his head.
"Your friends are in no position to help you..." He drawled, laughing quietly at the boy's jump of surprise. "How ever.. there is someone who would like to see you..."
Slade stepped back from the door, leaving the shutter open...
Beast Boy had recoiled from the door at Slade's voice, but now he approached the open shutter, a hand on his bruised shoulder (he had injured himself when he charged the door).
"Who is-" He stopped, eyes widening. "No. How...?
Throwing himself at the door again, his voice pleading.
Slade drifted back into the shadows of the hall, letting the object of Beast Boy's shock take center stage.
"How, indeed..." He murmured, watching with some interest as the blond haired girl stepped forward, her head cocked to the side in confusion.
"This is one of your enemies, Master?"
"Yes."
She laughed shortly and shook her head, long hair swinging.
"Not possible... he's just a boy."
Slade moved to her side and laid a hand on her shoulder.
"Now he is, my dear..." He patted her shoulder and she stepped aside, still in view of his captive. "You see? Nothing you do matters... She gave herself up to kill me... and neither of those events matter any longer." He raised his hand, making a fist. "I am very much alive, and she... she is very much my apprentice."
"What did you do to her?!" He practically howled. He shouldered the door again, willing himself to turn into something, anything. He fell to his knees, clawing at the shackles.
"Terra... Terra, it's me!" He slammed his fists on the ground. "Dammit! How could you forget...?"
He fell silent, head bowed towards the floor. "...how could you forget me..."
"I had hoped you'd be a little harder to break than that... no matter..." He pressed a switch on the panel next to the door and the shackles around Beast Boy's wrists began to glow. "In a moment, you will be overcome by pain... you might want to take this chance to say goodbye to your friends..." He pressed a button and the walls became transparent, revealing his captive, but unharmed, team-mates, Starfire and Cyborg. "And to your powers as well..."
Without another word, he slid the shutter closed and strode down the hall.
"Come, child.. we have preparations to attend to..."
"Cyborg?" He rushed to the clear panel from which he could see his friend, ignoring the growing heat of the cuffs he wore. "Cy?" He pounded on the wall, but despite the transparency, it was just as thick and impermeable.
Starfire seemed to be awake. He started to run to her side of his cell, when a searing white pain tore through his body. With a piercing scream, he pinwheeled into the floor, sending up a cloud of dust.
-What... is this?- The pain was too much to bare. His thoughts became fuzzy and he dropped into complete nothingness. -..Terra...-

"Is this a test, Master?" She peered at Beast Boy and slowly shook her head. "No... I've never seen you before in my life."
