((Ta-da... enjoy))

The Preparation [@ the T Tower]

((Robin))
A thankfully dreamless sleep had befallen Robin when he allowed himself to pass out on his bed. While the hours seemed to zoom by past him, his subconcious was aware of what needed to be done and forced him to slowly awaken, curled up gently. A drawn out yawn left him as he raised his head, glancing around the room, taking a moment to realize what happened-- and why his door was off it's hinges. Scratching his head through messy and matted ebony hair, the young Titan felt like brand new, save for that groggy feeling everyone felt when they woke up. Sliding from his bed, Robin was suddenly very aware of what needed to be done, and that only caused him to get to his feet faster; his feet that the boots hadn't even been been bothered to be taken off of last night. There was no time to lose, and he wasn't planning on losing time, or his mind today. The Boy Wonder felt a rush of determination rush through his veins, and hope; finally getting back to normal. He hoped. But what about afterwords?
There was no time to be thinking about that right now, all that mattered was getting his friends back home. That thought continually circled in his head as he passed into the bathroom, stringing the hair-gel through his hair and keeping it the way it always had been. The last thing he needed was his hair drooping over his eyes in the middle of battle; that seemingly took two seconds before he was out of the bathroom and down the hallway again. His trek was to the kitchen, where he was going to find something quick to tide him over, pass by his room again, re-gather some of his gadgets and then he was out of here with Raven. He was already going over tactics to find Slade in his head, how to actually put up a fight...everything. Preoccupied, Robin was looking over what they had in the fridge, and frowned; didn't anybody know what 'breakfast' was around here? All he saw was sausage links, left-over pizza and the like. Food was food, however, and he couldn't just go into a hunt with his stomach growling at him; plucking a piece of the left-over pizza from the fridge, he dropped it on a plate and heated it up before he scarfed it. Whether Raven was up or not remained unseen for the Boy Wonder, but he was almost ready anyway; he just needed a few gadgets and-- had somebody trashed their place?
Staring around the tower, Robin had been apparently pre-ignorant to the mess that was scattered about their home. Either he had really sunk into finding Slade 24/7 or...well, there were a million other possibilies, but he found that now wasn't the time to be worrying about how horrible the tower looked on the inside.

((Raven))
Raven walked into the kitchen, looking calmer then she had in days. She was alert and ready to fight. Not only that, but she was confident that she had a fool-proof pan to track down Slade. She opened the fridge and frowned slightly, then started making tea, deciding to stick with her usual routine.
"Ready, Robin?" she asked, ignoring the mess. She knew Cyborg would have a fit when he saw what their unexpected 'guests' yesterday had done to his room, but this was not the time to worry about it. They had more important things to attend to.

((Robin))
Robin knew he was relieved when he saw that Raven had an over-night heal as well, and with a firm nod, he replied, "Ready as I'll ever be. I just need to drop by my room, get my bo-staff and everything else."
Making sure the T communicator was working before he quickly jogged to the room in which he called his own, got everything he was sure he needed or would need. As quickly as he had gone, he came back, "Alright, let's do this," he replied, that old sense of confidence ringing in his voice once again.

((Raven))
She nodded and pulled her hood up, her eyes glowing from the shadows eeriely. She finished her tea, then looked at him.
"I had an idea for the search." she said, her voice as dry as ever, even though she was feeling increasingly nervous. She was glad Robin was confident, but her speech hadn't affected her as much as it had affected him.
"Searching on foot is the only option left, but its going to take a very long time. But if I try to link with Starfire or Beast Boy, they can help us find them." She watched him, expressionless, waiting for his judgement.

((Robin))
Lifting his head up slightly, Robin seemed to be going over her suggestion in his head, thinking of any flaws or objections he had to it, but it seemed to be one of the few choices they had. Nodding, he said, "Just be careful, we don't know anything about where they are, and the smallest mistake could be lethal."
He didn't like to think about what could happen, but it was better than being ignorant to it.

((Raven))
She nodded. She doubted it would hurt anyone, but at the same time, her power might still be somewhat out of her control. But the advantage of doing this would be that Slade would not know; her power wuld go straight to their minds and the could communicate telepathicly.
"Alright. Who should I try and connect with?"

((Robin))
Taking in a breath for a moment before letting it out through his nose silently, he thought it over for a second, Probably someone who has been there longer, is more aware of their surroundings...
Then he glanced to Raven again, crossing his arms over his chest, "Try Cyborg," he suggested.

((Raven))
Raven nodded, then hesitated.
"This will a delay us a few minutes." she said, then moved into her meditation position, floating a few feet above the ground crosslegged. She closed her eyes and went searching. After several fruitless minutes, she felt his thoughts, and entered his mind.
'Cyborg, where are you?' she asked him, hoping he would know it was her and not a hallucination.

((Cyborg))
His eyes shot open, and his sensors slowly brought the room into focus. Darkness. A shadowed room, without a door.
-Rae, is that you? I'm... feeling pretty drained, Raven. He's using me as a battery or something. I can't move.-

((Raven))
She saw through his eyes, and frowned. it wasn't much help; just darkness. Not even the glow from the edges of a door.
'Yes. Are you hurt?' she hesitated, then told him why she had contacted him.
'Cyborg, Beast Boy and Starfire have been kidnapped too. I need your help. Robin and I can't find you if we can't have something that helps guide us. Slade is to good at hiding.'

((Cyborg))
-Damn, he got B and Star too? I'm startin' to think we'd be better off if we obsessed over this guy like Robin...-
Sighing, he tried to will his body to move again. No use. His human components strained to react, but his robotic parts were dead.
-If it helps, my body's sensors are telling me I'm underground. And I can pick up the sound of running water somewhere.-
He thought for a moment. -Raven, I was in my car when this happened. Maybe Slade was a little messy... left it where he got me. If you can find my car, maybe it'll at least point you in the right direction.-

((Raven))
'Okay. Be careful. Robin and I are on our way; we'll be in touch if we need more help. Hopefully, this will be enough.' with that, she broke the link and settled back onto the ground, frowning.
"He doesn't know where he is. Slade has him hooked up to something that's draining almost all his power. He can't move, but his sensors said that he's underground, he said he heard water, and Slade attacked him when he was in the T-car. So, we find the car, and we'll be halfway there." She listed off the information to Robin, hoping he could atleast guess where they were.

((Cyborg))
Cyborg slowly drifted back into unconsciousness. Raven's life force had been able to pull him out of his virtual coma, but without her presence, he couldn't sustain himself.

((Robin))
Robin had been slowly pacing about in the kitchen, waiting for Raven to make her connection and come with some hopefully good news. The sound of her voice snapped him out of his own thoughts, halting in mid stride, he turned to glance towards his hooded teammate. Definitely good news that there were clues to where the rest of the team was, "Good. I'm pretty sure we can track the T-Car from our computers, but we'll need to get access to it from the main computer," he said in response to the information.
Turning and heading towards the control center, the more he ran the clues over in his head, the more hope he started to have for finding his teammates, Underground...heard water... he must be underneath water, but where?
Thoughfully, Robin took a seat on the chair before the main computer and began to tap at the keyboard quickly, the faster they found the T Car the better.

((Katze))
Unable to wait any longer, 'Edgar' transformed long enough to open Raven's door and step into the hall, before reverting to his feline form. He could hear voices, far off, but still in the Tower... he only hoped that he wasn't too late...
-For what? What can you do?-

((Raven))
She walked up behind the chair and watched.
"What are the chances that we can find them?" She asked, her eyes fixed on the screen. She was no lnger worried...that emotion had long since been replaced with seething rage. Slade would pay.

((Robin))
After a few more taps... the screen produced a dot that began flashing, and it really took but two seconds. Raising an invisible brow, Robin tilted his head; the T-Car really wasn't that far away. "We will find them."
The T-Car wasn't far away, that must have meant that Slade wasn't that far away either...that was when he started putting it all together. "Not too far away...underground with water nearby; Raven, I think Slade's been right under our noses the whole time," and there was a sign of distate in Robin's voice, one that couldn't believe that all those nights of searching for him, and he had been so close all along...or was he?
The Boy Wonder was trying not to jump to conclusions that he was nearby, as this just could have been another sly trick to make them too late to save their friends; but he wasn't about to wait another second either. "We don't have a lot to go on, but we have to trust what we do have."

((Raven))
She watched the screen, her face carefully blank, but her mind spinning. So close...the whole time. Serval thoughts struck her at once. Cyborg had been easy to find; much easier then she would have thought. The kitten on the shore. Starfire and Cyborg being kidnapped right from under there noses.
"So where do you think he is?" She started walking towards the door as she talked. A lot of information or no, she wasn't willing to wait another second.

((Robin))
Frowning, Robin got up from the chair immediately and turned, heading towards the door alongside Raven, already thinking up a plan, what to do and where to go. Releasing a brief, half-silent sigh, he never took his eyes off the path before him, "My guess is, since it's underground, it's either near the shoreline at Jump City, or it could be underneath what I believe I saw an island about a half a mile from the tower," he began.
"I'm not willing to risk us splitting up, though. We'll have to best guess it; it could even be deep underneath the sea's ground, but we don't have time for that."

((Raven))
She nodded. Splitting up would be bad; Slade wouldn't attack if they weren't alone. Or so she hoped.
"We should check the shoreline first. I don't know about Starfire, but Cyborg and Beast Boy were both kidnapped on the main land." She glanced at him. She was worried about him, but for now they rage she felt was the important thing. She would not allow herself to be distracted.

((Robin))
Robin nodded, "Good idea," he replied, finding hard not to grind his teeth together.
Slade was impeccibly good at getting to him, but he was fighting hard not to let that be the case. They're friends' lives were most likely at peril, and because of him, there was a good chance that-- No! You're going to get to them, they're alive. And you're going to settle this score with Slade.

((Katze))
Running full tilt toward the sound of Raven's voice, he launched himself onto her shoulder and held on tight, trying not to dig his claws into her skin.
He still wasn't sure what he meant to do next... but he had the strangest feeling that someone was going to be very angry after the fact...
He could sense that Slade was still preoccupied... at least that much was going in his favor...

((Raven))
She stopped and looked down at the cat, annoyed.
"Edgar? What are you doing?" She lifted him from her shoulder and put him on the counter.
"Stay here. We'll be back soon."

((Katze))
Meowing indignantly, he shook his head and threw himself at her again, hooking his claws into her cloak and hissing at Robin.

((Robin))
Robin had ignored the feline for the most part, but when it had jumped to be with it's apparent owner again, he turned to look at it, only to get hissed at.
"We don't have time for this," the young Titan said bitterly, "but we're not taking him with us, we can't."
He wasn't even going to try and pry the cat off of Raven's shoulder, he'd get nothing but a torn up appendage.

((Raven))
She frowned and grabbed the cat, cradling him in her arms.
"What are you doing?" she snapped, before putting him back on the counter.

((Katze))
'Edgar' tensed, about to spring... and then stopped, seeming to sink into himself.
-Now or never...-
"I know where he is..." He said, sitting back on his haunches and looking raven in the eye. "I can help save your friends..." He looked from her to Robin and back again, swishing his tail anxiously.

((Robin))
Robin backed away only slightly, ready to take down the little 'kitten' if need be, but it seemed he hadn't needed to. The masked eyes only seemed to widen, while he was hardly expecting it to talk, but he wasn't going to sit there and let it surprise him for more precious minutes. "What? Who...what are you?"
Glancing to Raven, it seemed apparent she didn't know about this, but there was obviously more to this feline than met the eye. Perhaps for all the right reasons.

((Raven))
She started to say something, then froze, staring at the cat. It was one of her few geuinly confused moments, and she didn't enjoy it.
"You...what? You're talking." She blink, still staring at him.

((Katze))
'Edgar' sighed [as well as a cat can..] and stood... he threw himself into a neat little flip, transforming in mid-air and landing, seated, on the edge of the counter.
"What: I know where your friends are, and you're going the wrong way. Who: My name is Silvestri... or Katze, if you prefer. As for what I am... I'm as human as you are... well, at least I'm as human as your friend Beast Boy." He smiled tightly. "You're a bit more human than the rest of us..."
Katze bit his lip and looked at the ground, glancing up at Raven through his eyelashes.
"I'm sorry... I should have-- I could have-- I don't have a choice."

((Raven))
"You're working for Slade." Raven said, her voice oddly flat. She stared at him, obviously putting up a mental wall between them. After a few more seconds she turned and started to leave the room.
"Come on Robin. We should get going." She said coldly, ignoring Silvestri.

((Robin))
"Raven, wait..." Robin rapidly spoke up, staring at the had-been feline still, he was iffy on his trust, but perhaps he had been put up to it, just like he had been put up to doing Slade's dirty work as his apprentice.
"You said you know where Slade is...and our friends, how can we trust you to take us to them?" he asked, unmoving from his spot.

((Raven))
She stopped, but didn't turn around. She felt oddly numb. She had been wrong, all along...Slade had gotten 'Edgar' she just hadn't known it. She let Robin handle it, not wanting to even look at the boy that had been posing as her cat.

((Katze))
Hopping off the counter, he chased after her, darting back and forth and biting his lip.
"Raven? I'm trying to help... I'm sorry about Beast Boy, I really am. He and I.." He paused, taking a few steps in silence. "We have a lot in common, that's all."
He took a deep breath.
"Let me fix this, please... I know where Slade's hide out is... I can get you inside." He glared at Robin. "And you need me."

((Raven))
She turned around, her eyes glowing slightly.
"Did you help him capture Starfire and Cyborg too? Good little errand boy that you are." her voice was cold, emotionless, but the undercurrent of disgust was almost palpable. But along with the disgust, there was a thread of hurt. She had trusted him, confided in him.
"Even if you do know, how can we trust you? You're probably just leading us into a trap." She looked away, afraid the hurt would show in her eyes.

((Katze))
Silvestri recoiled as though she had physically struck him.
"No... Raven, I didn't have anything to d with that-- I mean it." He reached out to her, letting his hand drop before he made contact. "I'm not leading you into a trap," He raised one hand, palm turned up and a small silvered fog rose and condensed into a pair of shackles, "I'm saving you from one."

((Raven))
She frowned, looking at the shackles.
"What are those?" She didn't really believe him..after all, they looked like something she could break out of almost as fast as she got them on.

((Katze))
"This is how Slade subdued the others... and how he planned to subdue you. They block the powers of anyone who wears them..." He took another deep breath. "Even if you don't like me anymore... you have to trust me. Slade is using these to drain your team's power... and that's not the worst..."

((Raven))
She recoiled from them, slightly, then looked at him.
"Okay. So he's using these to subdue their powers. What is the worst?" She didn't like it, but she had to trust him. Besides, a part of her had cringed at his tone and words. It didn't seem possible, but he really seemed to care for her. So she would listen. For now.

((Katze))
"Terra..." Silvestri breathed, biting his lip again, clutching the shackles to his chest. "Slade can get rid of all of you... except Robin... he doesn't have any powers to drain. Slade is going to--" He dropped the shackles suddenly, falling to his knees and clutching his head in pain.
"No, no, no... it's too soon... he should stil-- still..." He gasped, struggling to take control of his mind before Slade realized what was happening. Luckily, the interface was far from perfect.
"We have to go..."

((Raven))
Raven took a step back, wrapping her cloak aorund her, doing everything she could to keep herself from comforting him. One word of his speech registered.
"Terra?" Her eyes widened, then narrowed till they were barely visible slits. Of course. A pinch of kidnapping, a dash of theivery, three cups of betrayal, and what do you have? Slade going back to his old tricks. And old apprentices too, apperantly. Though of course, he didn't seem to mind a new apprentice or two. If Terra was involved, things could get very, very ugly.
"Where are they, Ed-...Silvestri."

((Katze))
"He's going to feed their powers into her... so she can fight Robin..." Silvestri gasped, still fighting the pain in his skull.
"There is an island... not far from here. His base is beneath it... we have to hurry..." He staggered, his eyes flashing a brighter yellow.

((Raven))
She scowled, looking down at the floor.
"You can barely talk. Theres no way you can handle the trip there." She hesitated, then sighed, annoyed.
"Transform. I'll carry you." She regretted saying it, but they needed him.

((That's only part of what we did today... but the stuff with BB and Starfire isn't so muddled. This is 8 more pages of rp.. we are so cool... ;) ))
