i am forgetting, can you turn the voice acting off?

At first the voice acting was a little rough, but now that i'm about 3 hours in the game its great aside from a random NPC ever so often. Theres no way you could turn the voice acting off and have this be the same game, it would be like doing that on Shenmue. Like watching a movie with no sound I guess. After playing VIII so long (and giving up) X is like a holy R@RE treat from heaven. I actually like the main character...
