Karen's method of cooking rice might be better if you cannot put the correct amount of water in.
She says that her friends cover the rice with water and keep on adding water to keep the rice covered. Once the rice is done to the correct degree, drain it and you have perfectly cooked rice.
That might, however, lead to disaster if you have the tendency to leave stuff unattended.
Also, I think that if you rinse off the rice before you cook it (to remove some of the gluten), it might not be as sticky if you overcook it...but I am not sure about that one.
