I thought it was going to be David Tennant in there. This is MUCH better. Didn't I say that the Doctor was being written as a Baddie this time? I totally understand what they're doing, and I hope his escape(?) isn't too twee.
Yes twee is still a bit of an issue for me. That's what was so good (if you see what I mean) about Rory shooting Amy. For a bit it looked as though they were retreading the emotion-overrides-perfectly-good-cybernetics thing they did with that scientist guy (Bracewell?) in the WWII episode. However the fact that Rory couldn't just halt his robot (or whatever) nature by thinking bout luv was good. It meant there was drama and it made sense. I mean it'd be pointless having robots/androids/cyborgs if you could disarm them with hugs.
When the Doctor described the thing in the box -something that went across galaxies and scared everyone- there was only one person who fitted that bill. The stuff River said about the 'good wizard' was obviously a red herring.
I thought it's you, it must be you! when he said that, then remembered they'd used that plot with the dream pollen, so discounted it somewhat and wandered off into thinking it's the Master...
