This morning I listened to Morrissey on my way into work, and thought about how great it would be if the Smiths got together for a reunion tour. This got me to thinking about the Pixies, and how when I was younger I really didn't like them much at all. i was always aware of the Pixies, i knew a few of their songs, and i even bought a few of their re-issues last year, but i got rid of them simply because i realized that while i like them, i don't like them -that- much. and i also think it's kinda funny that they're selling out so many shows when they really didn't do all that great "back in the day."

they have their place, but they'll never be a Sonic Youth or Smiths. which is kinda sad because Frank Black (or whatever he's calling himself these days) and Kim Deal are very talented. but they've done well.

I liked the Pixies. A friend made me a Pixies-only mix tape and it was essentially the soundtrack in my life from 1992-1996. But I'm not going to see them because I just don't like the idea of reunion tours. I will, however, make an exception for a Smiths reunion.
