Sometimes I honestly feel like I don't know. I know I have VERY strong attractions to people, and even stronger for Specific people, but is it really love? Why can't there be some actual definition

You're not really talking about love. You're talking about relationships.
Everyone figures out what love means for them, and comparing it is just about impossible - kinda like asking if we both see the same color blue.
But you're talking about relationships - what they mean, what you can expect from them, and what people expect of you. And it can be tough to create a relationship where you both have good and realistic expectations. But don't chalk those difficulties up to love. People can love each other, but not work out together. And vice versa.
I know exactly what you mean. The only way to get along with it, i think, is to be who you are and not worry so much about what the other guy thinks. You can't hardly change them anyway, so even if it hurts that somebody you love/attract to doesn't want to be with you because you aren't everything they think somebody who loves them should be... I think the loving path is to let them do what they do, and love them when you can. They'll either figure it out eventually, or they won't. But hurts are as temporary as any other feelings, so its no big deal. They're not important enough to avoid or attenuate the rest of your life with, I think.
