I would never have thought of that. How intensely irritating.

Well, my first thought was "maybe it only recognizes PS/2-style mice and keyboards". In fact, I didn't try moving the USB plugs until I discovered that there was only one PS/2-style port.

But, yeah, I stomped and yelled a bit. Irritating to drop the thick end of 1k$ and have it seem to not work...

Ah yes but the guru of computer gods let you have your geekness reward and figure it out. I would still be stuck in the trailer park of lost hope.

Grin! glad to hear from you and that you are still kicking it.

I had the same thing happen today... Bought a ASUS CM673-US-2AC Intel Core I5 and could not get the mouse or keyboard or anything to work... I thought something was wrong with the CD-R and went and got DVD-R and then went to the internet and finally... found this note. AWESOME!!! Thanks!!! Saved me a lot of time! I am not sure I would of figured that out. I was trying to stay calm but after two days of jury duty I was ready to lose it!!!

You da MAN!!!

I'm so glad you posted this! The same thing happened to me, except I called the ASUS helpline and they advised me to take it back to the shop and get a replacement, so I did. If the same thing happens to my replacement pc I'll know what to do!
