Baby Tylenol and cancer causing ingredient?

MD's friend told him that Baby Tylenol's red dye can cause cancer. Luke's pediatric dentist (long story) never heard such things ... and neither have we.

Has anyone heard of such thing?

i hadn't heard that, but i did buy dye free baby tylenol & baby motrin. 1) because they always spit some up and it won't stain their clothes and 2) just because i'm kind of a "natural" freak and i fear that dyes/additives can contribute to ADD/hyperactivity. (my FIL gets headaches from eating doritos from the yellow dye).

the connection to ADD/headaches:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/131963/is_the_red_40_food_dye_additive_having.html

article mentions this:

When red 40 was first approved by the FDA as a food coloring additive there was some controversy as to whether or not it caused tumors and cancer. Those claims have been proven to be false but now many parents, Doctors and Teachers are becoming aware of other concerns regarding intake of red 40, especially in young children.

Thank you so much. I posted this hoping you would reply. ;-)
I cannot believe I didn't think of the dye free. But truth be told we have given B.Tylenol to Luke once since he was born.

i'm weird like that...i think i miss my college days so i like to research things. as much as the internet can be used as research ;)

i found the dye free on drugstore.com. haven't noticed it in stores, though. i'm almost out of our motrin as adrian has been teething.

i'm sure it's one of those things that the amount you give them matters. if they take it everyday, it would matter more, you know?
