Insensitive Basterds

 Having been called all sorts of things over the course of my life, it really doesn’t surprise me anymore. Generally it comes when I won’t do or think what someone else wants, and “insensitive” seems to come out more than normal. And after reading this story, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was trotted out again.

The story about the BBQ shoot out is just another sad commentary about the insanity of our society which places the right to bear arms above the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I could care less about the character of the perpetrators or whether or not their families were surprised they could be in gangs. They made the choice to be violent and settle their disputes with guns, and they got what they deserved. This last week a woman in Tacoma was shot on her front porch by a guy in a car who randomly shot off his gun as he sped away from a fight on her neighbor's front lawn. She made the mistake of coming out of her home to call her husband back into the house as he tried to defuse the fight next door. So her young life was wasted because a threesome of yahoos displayed their macho cowardice with their guns ( ... )

Holy missing the point, Batman.

If you disarm the lawabiding, it just makes them target rich for the lawless. And that's not even at play here. Two gang members shot each other. No innocents were harmed! We won!

The Second Amendment is there for a reason, and even the Supreme Court got it right in overturning the gun bans that were enacted by radically liberal cities like Chicago.

Hooray! No innocents were killed and two gang members are dead. Sure glad I wasn't anywhere near the gun battle that day! I still stand by my belief we need stricter gun control laws.
