Hey hey, you you, I don't like your boyfriend

I am working on a Grand Unified Theory on Mothers and Boyfriends, and essentially it says that whenever you hear about a domestic tragedy, more often than not, you'll hear the phrase "mother and boyfriend" somewhere in the story. It isn't bulletproof, but it seems to work more often than not. This was a profoundly thoughtful entry that touched my heart. It is sad, but not surprising that so many single moms have such low self-esteem that they are desperate to take anyone for either financial support or just plain help like babysitting. Your suggestion that we all reach out to help them with offering to sit for them, or do errands is kind and forgiving. And yes--there are plenty of really nice guys out there who would be happy to be loving, supportive partners.
