Oo Oo... so I got home from downtown today to find an email from the NYTimes asking me if my wedding on April 21 in Italy is my one and only wedding or if there will be a civil ceremony preceding it (there will not be). So I am wondering if they are interested in printing the announcement. Then I can get onto that guy's blog where he trashes all ( Read more... )

You wanna link me up to the wedding blogger? Sounds amusing.

You must post photos of the plates when you can. And you can use them later for ebay.

Ha! Those were my thoughts exactly! I wonder what FMIL is going to think when I start laying them out and posing them for marketing type photos :p

Looks like the guy hasn't updated since January. I am sure he will come back with a vengeance eventually:

Ooh - I second posting photos of the plates! We want to see!

Very exciting about the NY Times. You'll definitely need to keep us posted on that...

Sorry to hear about the wedding budget - so typical though. And you are right to be glad you aren't doing it in NY, where I'm sure you'd end up spending more than that!

Oh yes I am sure. My mother was beside herself when I declared we were getting married in Italy. All my family members were like "we can plan your wedding for you... you can just stay there." Um, right. Thanks. Anyway, I told her to start checking around and getting prices and that she would see if was much, much cheaper to do it here. I mean, at $200+ in manhattan, that is like $60k just for 300 people which is pretty normal for a wedding in my family.
