In hyperspace, close to Babylon 5's jumpgate but not quite there yet, Bester closes his eyes and takes a deep breath to calm himself. One by one, he lowers his shields, and then reaches out into the void. Concentrating on Carolyn's signature, the way he remembers her, he tries to find her mind, and with that mind, Babylon 5.

There, he can sense her. A tiny beacon of silver light in the darkness of space.

*Carolyn? Can you hear me?*

The intricate pattern that forms his mind is so familiar and still so long missed and unexpected; she lets herself fall into the contact with with a mixture of wonder/disbelief/hope

*I can hear you, Al!*

A soft smile spreads on his face, and she can sense a feeling of warmth through their connection.

*It's good to feel you again. I'll arrive in a few hours, but I wanted to talk to you first. I...*

There's a brief pause as he searches for words.

*I'm not sure how the Captain and his friends will react to my visit, but I'll try to keep a low profile. Did anything unusual happen while I was in hyperspace?*

In the middle of the shared warmth, there is worry and a tiny sliver of fear.

One of their ships was nearby. Only briefly, and nobody else picked it up, but after what they did to me, I could sense it. I thought they were gone, but not all of them, it seems.

I tried to find out about your friend in med lab. He's still on the sleepers, but according to the security reports alert and in good physical condition. He did ask to be put in contact with a Psi Corps representative, which they haven't done so far, but Ms Alexander has just returned, and told them she is listed as one.

Otherwise, it is pretty much business as usual. There appears to be something going on with some of the ambassadors which has everyone worried, but I don't think it has anything to do with you, the Corps or telepaths in general.

She has been debating about whether or not to tell him Garibaldi gets training as a telepath from someone of a different universe, but has decided not to. As she did not tell Garibaldi that Bester is coming, she will try to keep
