Invented Holidays

If you could invent a holiday, what and when would it be? What special traditions would take place on that day?Old Entertainment Vid Day. It would be celebrated by endless rewatchings of old Earth shows and films, discussion of favourite scenes, reenactment of same, and lots of dressing up in costume. As for when it would take place - hm. I'd vote ( Read more... )

I've only recently seen a few examples of 'television' and 'films' during my visit to amy_uncensored's world. But I always love dressing up in costume, and I adore theater. So I would think that your holiday would be grand fun. Perhaps you should throw a party commemorating it yourself.

My lady, I would love to do so, but for starters, I am not in a physical condition to do so right now. You see, my consciousness got separated from my body, and my body is still frozen and cannot be reanimated at present without me going insane.

Still, I have hopes this will change. And when it does, I'll follow your advise. Though that means I'll have to borrow some money - before I ended up in my present state, I was a prisoner and hence not in possession of finances.

Good heavens! A mind sane and aware, and your body virtually imprisoned! I hope you will forgive me, but I had never heard of such a terrible thing in my lives. It sounds even worse than being a ghost, for ghosts at least bear a spectral form of themselves.

Is there any way you might be aided? And some process be done to revive your form while preserving your mind? After all, this Journal brings together so many people from different worlds and times, there might be someone who has the skill and wherewithal to assist.

That is my hope as well, especially since there are almost two hundred people who are nearly in the same situation as I am. (They were modified in the same way, but thankfully they seem to be genuinenly unconscious for now.) And I have found some friends through the Journal who are working on it.

Thank you for your kind words. In return, let me warn you - some of those who did this to us have access to the Journal as well, and they have helpers. They are called "Shadows", and if you ever come across them or people named "Mr. Morden", or "Mike", be on your guard!

ooc: And now the Mun must be off to catch her plane to Africa. I won't have email again until the 18th. See you then!

I'll be celebrating that day right there with you, especially if we can get rid of that ridiculous 'Patriot Day' thing!

And re: Mike, now you tell me... Yikes!

Hope things go well with Varzil and your training -- I'll talk to you when you get back.

[OOC: Carolyn kinda had a guest-starring role in Roger Smith's nightmare -- he's been communicating with the BabCom in his sleep, and therefore may have run into you a few times. Since he was doing it while he was asleep, he doesn't actually know he was doing it, though]
