Lindsey reads and thinks about telling Darla about his new little job responsibilities... or at least the fact that he's going to be working bi-coastal... then decides that it might just be nicer to surprise her later on.
You know, I actually never lived there, except for a few nights before Connor was born, and then I had other things on my mind than to appreciate the surroundings. And my Hyperion memories from the year before are, well - I still don't like to talk about that. So it's going to be a first for me as well as Kara.
...but yes, we are. It's there, it's available, and it has enough room so I won't have to compete with Cordelia for the shower. As she'll come along as well.
Providing Lindsey with a mental image of her, Cordelia and a shower is that little bit of teasing which Darla just can't resist.
and it's probably a good thing they are talking over computers instead of in person, because that image is not something she needed to see the reaction to. Which involved a groan and the rubbing of his forehead, resisting banging his head against the wall
Yes, I've heard that. Very loudly in fact. Not that it's any big loss. Boston will actually be alot quieter without her here, that's for sure.
But the scenery will definatly go downhill with you not being here.
It's a question of transport, darling. Well, that and wanting to start a new era.

Actually, it's because I want to surprise Angel by buying him a model of that car he's still getting misty-eyed about in LA, but I need the money for that, hence no more Mercedes.
I can see your point. And it certainly won't get you staked, which was what my way of annoying my then exes current did to me. Well, if you truly want to mess with their minds but in a way they can't possibly refuse, you could give the car to the girlfriend instead, since he's going to drive anyway....
I don't actually have the money to buy a car like that, really. And it wouldn't be practical since I'm going to be in Europe for the next while.

You have the most amazingly devious mind. I mean this in a good way. Is it a residual vampire thing or. . .never mind, none of my business.
By the way, remember that thing you suggested about how to get that guy to leave me alone? That probably would work AFTER we'd already. . .you know. Though I don't even really have time to think about him, because my long-time, um, not-exactly-ex because nothing really happened but sort of the one who got away only not except the only reason it never happened was because there was somebody else in the picture? That guy?
He's coming over for Valentine's Day. Maybe. If he doesn't have to go on a secret mission for the next seven months, randomly, which sometimes happens.
Umm, sorry, I'm confusing you. You just seem really good at this stuff.
Hey. . .maybe Tony would buy the car for Emma. Talk about confusing her. . .
Thank you. Actually, it's probably part of the original package. I don't remember that much about the first time I was human, but I did manage to survive and prosper in, shall we say, none too friendly conditions, so I can't have been much of a naive.
Hmmm. So do you want him to show up... more than you don't want him to show up? If not, the clingy tactic should still work. Otherwise, well, you know, I've found having a friends-with-side-benefits relationship where one didn't have to worry about the whole sharing a life together deal quite relaxing, now and then.
Car: it's there to create whatever confusion you want.
*insert sum below, as Mun has no idea what a 2004 Mercedes convertible would cost on the US, but imagine Darla asks for something that's just about reasonable*
XXXX Dollars. And there wasn't a repair necessary yet.
It's not that I actually need another car, because I don't, but it is a very tempting offer. I have a private garage that has room for it, and should my current car... I don't know drive into a ditch because of all this snow we've had this season... it would be nice to have a back up.
When do you need the money by? I can have a cashiers check drawn up by Thursday.
[ooc: I'm so amused that Eve is making an offer on Darla's car. It's sort of odd, but humorous at the same time.]

Why don't you take the car, Darla? You'll need it more in LA than Boston, anyway.

I guess you can always drive the BMW, anyway. It's not like I ever do.

That's an elegant solution. Thank you, darling.

My ex is a bit of a gearhead is why I ask. He's not really in the Boston area, but he might travel if he liked it enough.
He probably has enough cars, though.

I'm only a little tempted to buy it for him for Valentine's Day. His girlfriend wouldn't be amused, of course, but then -- that's why I'm tempted.
