I had a (mostly) wonderful Christmas.  The kids got tons of presents and Josephine had a great time opening hers.  Jefferson is 18 months, so he still just wasn't sure about digging in and opening stuff.  His favorite toy was the $3.00 foam ball that Santa brought him; he insisted on holding it in his lap while we helped him open other gifts.  ( Read more... )

It started raining here last night.  The trees are covered with ice and branches have been snapping all over town.   There is also water leaking into my kitchen from the roof.   Many places are without electricity and my husband called to tell me that his workplace closed for the day after they lost power.  School was cancelled and it's doubtful ( Read more... )

After weeks of not being able to see Josephine's eyes, I took her to the barber shop last night so her grandpa could cut her hair.  She decided, after seeing a picture on the wall, to get it cut into a short pageboy.  It's not quite chin-length and it's very cute on her.  She got very angry at me this morning because I made her put a hat on before ( Read more... )

Everything here is going suprisingly well. Jeff enjoys his new job and feels that he will be able to carve a place for himself there. Everyday he comes home excited about something, whether it's the Health Insurance, or taking a family picture to put up, or even just figuring something out before it got pointed out to him.
