Rules for Submission - Fan Mix Challenges
  1. All Submissions will be taken as comments to the individual prompt posts.  Please read the detailed instructions below and look at the example fan mix submission.
  2. Members are only allowed to enter one (1) submission per prompt.
  3. Each submission should have between eight (8) and twelve (12) tracks.  At least two lines of lyrics are required per track.  If the track is instrumental, please let us know.
  4. Links to uploaded songs are not allowed at tm_challenge.  If you wish to release your mix after the challenge is finished, you can do so on your personal journal.
  5. Cover art is not required and will be judged as a separate category.  If you wish to submit cover art, please limit the size to no more than 500x500 pixels.
  6. As this is a family-friendly community, graphic nudity is not allowed.  This includes images of male and female genitalia and partial rear nudity.  Strong language may be acceptible as long as it fits the context of the challenge.
How To: Submitting to a Fan Mix Challenge
  1. Step One - Title
    • As with the Ficlet challenges, put the title of your mix in the Subject box.  In addition to the title, please include the character or pairings involved, the rating, and any applicable warnings.  If your title exceeds 100 characters, put the extra information in your comment as the first line.  If you have to break your submission into multiple comments, please indicate which part and the number of comments in each comment.  For example: "Waltzing with the Tin Man" Part 1/2 and "Waltzing with the Tin Man" Part 2/2.  The characters or pairings, rating, and warnings are only necessary in the first comment.
  2. Step Two - Formatting the Track List
    • Number your tracks!  You must between 8 and 12 tracks on your mix in order to qualify for entry.  Numbering them helps me to quickly identify whether or not you have met this requirement.
    • Link each track title to a lyrics site for that song.  Do not link to a journal.  Acceptible sites include SongLyrics.com, A-Z Lyrics Universe and Cowboy Lyrics.
    • Don't forget to include the artist's or band's name.  If the song is from a musical, then include the title of the musical.
    • Include at least two lines of lyrics for each track under the track's title.  Please do not give the lyrics for the entire song.  There isn't enough room in the comment for this.  Just give a few lines that you think help emphasize the relevance of the song.
  3. Step Three - Cover Art
    • Cover art will never be required for a Fan Mix challenge at tm_challenge.  However, if you want to include cover art, you are welcome to do so.  Please be aware that cover art will be judged in a separate category from the actual mix and will not be displayed with the track list.
  4. Step Four - Preview and Submit.
    • Click on the Preview button before submitting and read over your comment.  Be sure to check the spelling of the lyrics included.
If everything looks good, click Submit.  If you have any other questions, please be sure to look at the example below.  If there is anything that is still unclear, please leave me a comment at the Page the Mod entry and I'll do my best to help.
