Why?!

Why is it only in Hawaii Five-O slash comms that this seems rational:

Pairing: Steve/Danny, Lori. Not really slash, more gen than anything but if you prefer to see it that way you can.Why would this be posted to the Steve/Danny pairing-specific slash comm? Why is the author listing Steve/Danny as the pairing if THERE IS NO PAIRING ( Read more... )

Woah fandoms seem to evolve in to new kinds of stupidity. That would definitely annoy the hell out of me.

This is like when someone buts a m/f/m threesome fics in slash categories, where the m/m characters often aren't even involved. Or when the fic is from the females POV, meaning that all the romantic interaction will be het in the m/f/m threesome scenes.

Exactly. I feel like we aren't allowed to have exclusively slash comms anymore. If we bring up the issue that we don't want to see het or gen masquerading as slash, we're being jerks or noninclusive. I'm pretty sure a gen or het comm would still flip out if we were to go over there and start posting slash.

Oh, you bet they would. They would pitch royal fits.

I can get very ruffled over this issue, but then I think of how slash has taken over nearly every fandom and just smile. ;)

actually i've seen people do that in other slash comms as well, the whole x/x but not really. I have no idea why people do that other than perhaps they're desperate for an audience. I find it equally annoying.
