BREAKING NEWS:
At the TMI summer party in Bryant Park, NYC today, Cassandra Clare confirmed
that The Mortal Instruments will be made into a film trilogy.
The film shares producer credits with Lord of the Rings, though no word on a director.
It appears that (as probably expected) Clare will have little say in the actual production of the movie.

Keep Your Fingers Crossed
It may be worth noting that Cassandra Clare recently said on her blog that she will be making an announcement of some "fairly awesome" news at the TMI themed party in NYC on August 22nd. Signs and portents are pointing towards this possibly having something to do with what we're all here waiting to find out about.
