A Clackamas County Park just says "NO! to pinatas." But why?!

I actually saw this sign today, but didn't have a camera with to take my own photo.

possibly to do with the mess that isn't cleaned up afterward?

Right, but yahoos with beer cans go to parks and there aren't culturally specific signs about no baseball-cap-wearing-beer-swilling-fishing-dudes. You can't tell me they all leave no trace.
