“So?”
“Yeah?”
They stare at each other, the silence strong and ominous.
She sighs and he frowns.
“She really doesn’t like your dad,” she finally says.
He grunts, “yeah well he isn’t exactly a fan of hers either.”
She sighs again. “Ok, first I think we need to agree that we will form our own opinions about them and not what they think of each other.”
He nods, “Agreed, now back to the original problem.”
“We’ll need to do it together and at the same time.”
He groans, “Yeah, I know he’ll love you, Mel, but if he hears the name Raydor he’ll freak.”
She laughs, “Yeah well when she finds out my last name is going to be Flynn she’s liable to disown me.”
He frowns, “I thought you said she’ll love me and that she’ll be glad you’re happy.”
“She will be but it’s going to take her a little while to get over the fact that her future son-in-law is Andy Flynn’s son.”
He sighs, “So we tell them together and at the same time.”
“Dinner…”
He nods in agreement then adds, “In a public place.”
She laughs, “Mom loves Texas De Brazil,”
He snorts, “As long as dad doesn’t have to pick up the tab he’ll love it too.”
“Ok,” she says.
“Ok,” he echoes.
She sighs, “Is he on or off this week?”
“He’s off. How about your mom?”
She smiles, “To my knowledge she’s off too.”
He nods and looks at her.
“So…” he finally starts.
She giggles, “Wednesday night 7PM at Texas De Brazil we tell our parents that we are getting married,”
He nods smiling, “Yeah…Raydors and Flynns at a table talking about a wedding.”
They both laugh.
“God I hope my mom doesn’t shoot your dad.”
“That’s if my dad doesn’t die of a heart attack when I announce that I’m marrying Sharon Raydor’s daughter.”
