Isn't it great to read an old classic and discover just how richer it is than the mass media hand-me-downs of the 20th century? :-) Great work, TCM. I remember that Bugs cartoon; I bet more people know that than have read the story.

I also had the same thoughts about the "it's all in his mind" possibility. There's a degree to which that is always a possible reading in psychological horror tales. Good observation. But your point about Utterson being the central character really is the crux of your analysis and I think that's totally accurate.
