Point of view in Psycho vs. Psycho

I wondered about the makeup transition, too. I could only imagine, since Norman found her clothes at the house, that he ran back there to change and clean up before going back to the office to finish out his fugue. But normally, what did he do? Was he sometimes sleeping in her bed with the full gear on, or did the corpse maintain that position? I even wondered if there was some kind of in-between state when he changed his clothes/put on make-up - how he made the physical change without cluing in that he was doing so because the other person was actually in his head.

You bring up some good questions. I personally think that Bates cleaned up as Norma because she was the dominant role. I think the corpse stayed in the position, I don't think he'd worry about moving the body around except to put her by the window. Any more movement than that would probably not be good for the corpse. But then again, he might not be able to think in that manner.
