True. I don't think turnips smell, but then, I've never made a point of sniffing turnips. ;)

I'm willing to bet the turnips in the store smell a lot like dirt and a bit of whatever they are next to. If I remember correctly (and I don't know where I learned this) turnips often absorb the smells around them.
