Heh. Indeed. You come so freely.

No skin off my nose to goof around on the Network a while. Gets me out of doing something else.

I will not inquire as to what "doing something else" entails, unless that entails us, those of whom you have trapped in this City.

However, I am here to question you.

Paperwork.

So it's not a trade? It's just a little Q&A session? Ask away.

Paperwork. No omniscience to spare you such a task?

A trade? No. I've no need for compromise.

Let me ask you the broadest question which is also the core of all questions: why?

You wouldn't believe me if I told you. So I won't tell you.

Trades is trades. That's why I usually get called down here.

Specifics, please. I am a scientist. I work in specifics.

Why are you here? Leave that to the philosophers.
Why do bad things happen to good people? Ask a priest.
Why do good things happen to bad people? See above.
Why are there curses? Consult your local witch doctor.
Why does the Network exist? That would require an IT professional.
Why does the City exist? Ask the Mother who left us.
Why are you so happy? You could ask me, given my background in psychology, and I'd tell you about chemical balances or imbalances and responses to stimuli, etc.
Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side.
Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near? Just like me, they long to be close to you.

My belief has been tested sufficiently during my stay in this prison of yours.

A scientist . . . science is admittedly not my field. War is. But war is meaningless without strategy. Tell me. Don't scientists infer from something broader?

Heh. Your answers are not as vague as one would think.

Specific? Heh. What is your purpose?

Broadness is necessary in the beginning. Broadness is the speculation. Broadness is the unarticulated information need yet to be compromised into a question. Broadness is the pre-hypothesis state, the state of thinking "there might yet be something in that." Thereafter there is specificity. Thereafter, there is a telescope tunnel of near and far, broad and narrow. The specific observation, the broader pattern, in and out, in and out. It nests and weaves and fits and tiles and overlaps and joints, puzzle pieces snap clicking tabletop together, flattened: and there is clarity. The points on the chart and the overarching pattern, parabolic, silver, and inevitable ( ... )

If only it were always as simple as that. I suppose, in one way or another, there are answers to be had at the end of each inquiry, however satisfying that answer is. Inevitable? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Heh.

You speak as though it is simple.

It is the game we humans are used to. In fact, isn't that what you are doing to us? Plying us with your curses and until you get the state you have been aiming for? Torture comes in many forms, as does weakening the spirit.

A demotion of deities? Heh. Be careful. That shows weakness.

Is that what you think? Do go on. I like the bushido vibe.

On the part of my superior, perhaps.

Bushido?

Heh. Heh heh heh.

Omniscient, or a plain mistake?

Bushido is weakness, and it will die by my hand.

An entity superior is not necessarily always superior.

[ooc; OMG DO YOU KNOW BOTI? XD]

That seems to have upset you. Was it omniscient or a plain mistake?

"An entity superior is not necessarily always superior." That's very interesting. Do you think that an entity superior is not necessarily always superior?

[ooc: A little bit, and I have a friend who's a huuuuuge (liek xbox hueg) fan. Also, I'm sorry (no, I'm not) that he's gone ELIZA on you. He's a jerk.]

Never mind the emotion. Beware its consequence.

Heh. Repetitive, are we.

[ooc; Anotsu HATES bushido with a passion. 8D I LOVE IT. XD And hahaha, don't worry, this guy's a jerk too. He deserves it. XD]

I thought you were here to ask questions in the perpetual, perpetual hope of getting answers. Is this a threat which I see before me, the handle toward my hand?

Reply

|| Deity Filter || to_turn_away May 13 2009, 16:04:45 UTC
Answers will always be had, some more straightforward than others.

And what will you do with this said threat?
