[ Somewhat less ruffled than the first time he transmitted a video, but only just, Gaius Baltar sits in view of the camera, nursing a cigarette, and looking faintly disturbed. He is also dressed like a pirate, from the elegant open-throated shirt through to gold-buttoned waistcoat. The bandanna has been left to hang around his neck, and there are a ( Read more... )

Has anyone informed you that bandanna looks ridiculous?

Actually the least of my worries, but I'll take that on board.

[ ...

Hesitates, and then tugs the bandanna off. Pfft. ]

The rest is fine. Quite like the shirt.

That's essentially what I'm trying to find out, but I fell off the deck, and got on another one, and wasn't myself anymore.

Me too.

Agent 7272 strikes again. majorum_pride September 22 2011, 08:22:31 UTC
It happens enough. At least this time death and sex seemed to not be an issue with our disrupted identities, though that's little consolation.

[Oh, how he hates these identity changes. But.... Pause.]

The waistcoat is nice. [He's a leather man himself.]

You should see the pants.

I fell off've the deck with my warden. I didn't know you could fall off've the deck. There's variations of the theme, then?

Wildly varying ones. I've been a version of myself on an alternate Barge, an extremely large cat but in possession of my memories, altered to human more than once, and a Union soldier following the end of the American Civil War.

...You should probably check your closet and make sure the Admiral hasn't altered your clothing to keep the theme. He occasionally does things like that.

[ Just.

Breathes some smoke for a bit, before he leans out of view presumably to check his belongings. Gets up. The sound of rifling through things, the close and open of the door, before he settles back down in view of where he's positioned his communicator.

Those were some red leather pants. ]

Looks like I've been spared that one. Is the aim to just make us madder? Sort of like if we go right through to the other side, we'll see the light?

Yep. Every few days, we get to either change into man-eating plankton with a sexual dysfunction or get hurled off the ship and have to play somewhere awful.

You've still got the plankton thing ahead of you, I can tell...

I dunno.

I mean.

She's the warden, and everything, I'm not supposed to keep any track of her, now, am I.

Why?

Foolish though it may be to ask of 'reason' in a place that defies all scientific logic, but-- is there any?

I'm sure the admiral finds our discomfort entertaining. Is that an acceptable reason?

I could always attempt to formulate another for you, but the above is most likely, in spite of leave us all with a rather bad taste in our mouths.

No, 'the Admiral's a tosser' seems to be a decent, working theory. Very blanketing and multipurpose.
