[ Whatever one can see of the suite Gaius is in is predictably beautiful, as is the case for many that took advantage of the whole limitless funds thing. He looks like he hasn't sleeping, or has been drinking, or some other combination that makes for a considerably rumpled computer programmer. Anyone who has seen him, and will see him, will note he ( Read more... )

[Jesse, for whatever reason, is in a bathroom. Also smoking, naturally, sitting on the floor, using the toilet as an ashtray. He also looks tired, but less stressed than he has lately.]

I dunno about the death tolls, but I'm still seeing shit, for whatever that's worth. The faceless dudes.

[ Gaius remains in the general area of his shared suite with Sarah Connor - which is, incidentally, why he's keeping his voice down. ]

I was wondering. And I'm still dreaming as I was. Suppose I should be glad it doesn't happen when I'm awake.

[ His gratitude is-- invisible to the human eye, if he has any. ]

[Jesse's also being pretty quiet, but it's late, and he looks sleepy, so it's not all that out of the ordinary.]

Yeah, no kidding. [He sighs, dragging deep.] Anyways, that offer of mine still stands, if you want it. I scored some grass the other night, too. That might help.

[ Glances off somewhere in mild discomfort when The Offer is brought up again, but offers a quick smile at the video. He, too, is tired. That's what he gets for dialing into the network at this hour, however. ]

Paris isn't so terrible, when I'm not attempting to sleep. It's a nice distraction.

But I'll let you know once we're back on the good ship.

[Capa had already been to The Cité on his trip, but he had been more interested in the company he had, which included his inmate, that he didn't mind going back a second time. Even if this life in this city was starting to wear on him.

So when he received the message, he accepted it quickly, and made his way through the city to meet up with him.]

You seem to have adjusted well.

What in the world gives you that impression?

[ At least Gaius is being somewhat facetious when he says this, a hooked half-grin in accompaniment. He is also holding what appears to be a rather large cup of coffee and peering through the tinted glass of sunglasses, ignoring also the tour group trundling by like busy traffic. ]

It's a little bit terrible, isn't it.

[Capa raised one shoulder in a half hearted shrug.] I expected a shambling mess, to be perfectly honest. [He had managed to escape without a hangover, though he knew he probably had one too many at the club with Arthur the night before. It was the only way that Capa could cope with jazz. However, he did eye that coffee with a particularly envious look.]

But if you are, you hide it well.

[ Gaius doesn't miss the glance to coffee, happily sloshing his around before taking a long and needed pull from it, before tilting his head-- gently-- in a given direction. ] Long years of practice, rest assured.

Come on, let's get you one've these and you can help me get my bearings.

[It was a tough call after finding the Maison de Victor Hugo. I mean, Hugo's House. Come on. How do you top that.

Then Olive found a computer and searched around and shortly thereafter, she found herself outside the Musee d'Orsay. And oh look, a familiar face.]

Gaius!

[ Gaius will hand it to these French Earthers - they know how to build things. Observing the front face of the building, Gaius turns quick on a heel when his name is called out, furrow brow'd before breaking out an easy smile when he recognises who it is. ]

Hello there. I was just thinking to myself, I needed an Earther for context that isn't a frakking tour guide.

One day, you're going to explain what 'frak' is. [Tour guide, huh? The corners of her mouth twitched upward.] I've never been to France so I can't really help, but...I did some reading on this one. The Musee d'Orsay. Ever heard of Van Gogh?

No Van Gogh. That's a person?

[ Yep. He takes a last drag of ever present cigarette and drops it, crushing it out with the heel of a recently purchased and shiny shoe. ]

And if you can't guess what 'frak' means, there's no explaining I can do. In good conscience.

Sort of. Death tolls are hard to keep track of.

I wouldn't know, personally. You haven't experienced any since landing, though?
