I'm trying to decide what to do with my life. I thought I'd want to be a teacher strickly - but I don't think I'd want to be a teacher as much as I thought. I thought writing. first off, study what you are passionate about and let the jobs come to you after.

secondly, if you want some suggestions now might i offer:
-teaching theology
-a position within the church which would require instructing youth or individuals who are new to the faith
-if you are really as passionate about writing and research as you sound, then eventually you might even make a great professor.

Christian bookstores need to be filled with something :)

If you have a teaching gift you need to exercise it, and perhaps the writing is so you have something to teach from. If your husband says you're good at researching, there's so much interesting suppliments to the Bible that people don't often (in my experience) know or think about like the cultural aspects around the span of periods the Word is being written in. Good books can also be lectured all around the world, look at people like John Bevere and Joyce Meyer (just two off the top of my head) who make a career out of this.

Whatever you do, don't let your spiritual gifts go to waste, God has empowered you with them to make a difference in this world.
