I hope it turns out like I say: Mileage can and may vary, but I've found that nothing, not even grades, replaces sheer determination when it comes to university study. When I was an undergraduate, I once sat for eight hours outside of the Registrar's office door, all because they'd spent two months dodging me. I sat there until they had no choice but to stop ignoring me, and to listen to what I had to say.
It won't be easy doing all of this, but the key to university is to never lose heart. Once you lose hope, you lose it all, and there are some dread mechanisms in the system DESIGNED to make you feel helpless. You are never helpless; you are just required to work outside of the system. Alternate solutions are your every hope. This is a lesson I wish I knew when I was there, so I'm telling you early.
