I've been told by several people that Omaha is a place you have to leave and come back to in order to appreciate. I do like it, it's a nice place, but it's hard to ignore those irritating little things that you notice after 19 years of living here. I'd like to get out for a while, live in Seattle or Tokyo or Sydney or Phoenix, but I don't think I'll complain too much if it never happens.
