Haha!!! What an awesome thing to come home to this afternoon! CLIFFHANGER OMG. I still love this for everything... and the bits of characterization popping up there. Gerard calling the torpedoes his "boys" and Bush drilling the hell out of the crew... and all the little touches that bring us back to BtQ.

Excellent stuff!

This is one of the most cracktastic yet wonderful Hornblower AUs *ever* - the characters just translate so well and you've captured them perfectly.

This reminds me a lot of the 'Honor Harrington' books - have either of you read them?

i actually tried to read one of them. trouble is, i really don't have an interest in reading straight-up scifi like that. for me, space epics are reserved for the TV :-) she is one tough chick, i wonder who'd win in a fight, harrington or chick bush?
