It wasn't directed at you personally, though our discussion earlier did kind of remind me of various things. It was mostly directed at the Bush Administration and their die-hard supporters. I know that you're well-educated on political matters. My fundamental position is that no one has the right to try to impose their beliefs on the whole world. That goes for the neocon establishment (capitalism, "democracy"), that goes for the Muslim fundamentalists (Islam, theocracy), that goes for Communism and Fascism back in the day, etc. I believe different societies and groups should leave each other alone, and governments should leave their people alone, as much as possible. I'm more libertarian than progressive. What disturbs me is that there's an increasing tendency in politics these days - in various parties - to think in terms of "there's no place on our planet for evil people, and only the power of the authorities can vanquish them." That's bad. Always in history, that's bad.
