I recently joined a community called big_brother which is devoted to monitoring creepy government encroachments on civil liberties, and similar such things. This stuff is something that all intelligent people should be concerned about, since by creating structures that give excessive power to the authorities, all it takes is one idiot to get control of them

Ah, oh man. We had a bloke like that on an old forum of mine a few years ago, he believed absolutely anything as long as it sounded like a conspiracy. He was kind of funny for a while but then we realised he was actually serious.

yes, there are alot of idiots, and ALOT of them are blinded by their Xtian crap... hence my (continued) avoidance of all groups. It might take me 6 hours to make it thru a 2 hour presentation because I stop to verify this or that... I do my own research, and yes, unfortunately, it's real. And, in the age of the internet, it is harder and harder for them to cover their tracks - as long as your bullshit detector is on HIGH.

NO, I don't think the Queen of England is a lizard who eats babies(LOL), but I know that Barack Obama's foreign policy advisor is Zbignew Brzezinski, the co-founder of The Trilateral Commission(along with David Rockefeller) and his own writings extoll the 'virtues' of Marxism and one-world government.

Agreed that some of it has roots in reality. I don't think Mr. Brzezinski and his allies are going to get much farther than they actually have, though, since Russia seems to be on to their crap and is trying to pull China and some of the former Soviet states into forming an "anti-NATO" of sorts. Which is also bad O_o
