So I was in touch with a woman working for the SPA who fowarded my email to some nice girl who rescues ratties in Montreal. One female she rescued was pregnant and gave birth to wonderful little babies 3 weeks ago. They are all reserved by other people except for one little girl who was left all alone. I think it was meant to be. We will pick her ( Read more... )

HAHA. What pains me is that every rattery/rescue photo of rats is with flash. D:

Oo, what color is she? Her markings are really darling.

What bizarre colors these are! The one in front is particularly orangey. I really want an all brown wild-looking one like the brown one in this photo.

Haha, I know.
She is a hooded beige little gal. Isn't she sweet?
I think the one in the front was a male. Look at his little brown hands! Awwww.

One day, maybe 1 month after we adopted Yuki and Gaki we went to the petstore to get some food. Normally I go to stores with no pets to get my supply but ahem, its much further away from the area we were close buy. There was an agouti rattie (wild looking rat, like that one) Jeff LOVES these. We almost bought a 3rd rat that day, hehe. Jeff always wanted an all brown rat, like a "real" rat. He said pale beige is so girly haha.

Now I need to convince him getting a baby is a good idea. He didnt want to have a baby haha.

Oh and the best thing is that its not even a rattery (even if its 10 times better than a petshop rat.) Its a real rescue. It makes my heart melt a little :)

Yes, my babies are coming from a rescue as well. :) I think ratteries are also frowned upon a bit right now because, especially given the current economy, there is a specific abundance of homeless animals so purposely breeding ANY is a bad thing.

Shame, because ratteries get some damn cute color variations.

I don't know this Jeff guy but he better say yes!

I am so sorry about your Yuki, losing a pet always feels like losing a family member. I've lost 3 cats so I know the feeling very well.
