my birthday is coming up. what do I want? the only idea i can think of currently is a seriously fancy pants bag that is a bit pricey and that I don't really need (although one could make the argument that birthdays aren't about *need*). so spend mr. toad's money for me. what do I (or you via me) want?

I want green amethyst earrings. Big sparkly ones! And a new Beth Russell needlepoint canvas and/or kit because I'm almost finished my current project and they're so expensive that buying them for myself takes half the pleasure out of them.

If I didn't already have one, I'd want an xbox. I am awed that anyone can parent without occasionally immersing themselves in a roleplaying game in which they are, temporarily, not a parent.

I'm sure what *you* actually want is a day off and a good night's sleep. Is a week's worth of nanny a gift you can ask for?

ooh half-assed hobby stuff might be a good idea.

we have an xbox. I never use it. i used to play rpgs but haven't been able to get into one in a while :(

I've been asking for sleep for the entire time we've been together. alas, it's special order or out of print or something like that.

and I've had a neighbourhood girl coming by for an hour or so every day, but some days it just means entertaining two people because the pope is such a douche of a sensitive baby. it is getting better and will eventually be totally worth it because she is such a nice and wonderful girl, but as an introvert, some days it feels like more work than it's worth to get everyone used to each other. WAAAH first world problems.

My favourite place to drool over half-assed hobby stuff:

I buy almost everything from them, they are wonderful.
