It was a good thing that I opened my post from my brother and Alison in private, because I'm sure my face turned bright red. I'd like to know which one of them thought up the idea, because I wouldn't put it past either one of them to send something like that. Christ. That said, I know I'm ready-
On a related note, I'm glad Abby and I had that talk. I'm impressed with her will to wait, and it's getting really difficult on my end but... she really is worth waiting for. So many people rush into it or think they're ready before they really are, or do it just because everyone else is (which they are not) and then what? Drama, and maybe regret? No thanks, I want no part of any of that. We both want things to be right and things will happen when they are meant to happen.
Also, who else has a Mum that sends you Ministry applications for your birthday? Anyone? Didn't think so.
So... there is an enormous amount of sweets and biscuits and a cake back in Gryffindor because my sisters are insane and either bought out Honeyduke's or were up all night baking (and thank you, everything looks delicious). Sure, I said I wanted some of that stuff for my birthday (it's been a good week in Gryffindor for birthdays!). SOME, not enough to feed practically the entire castle! There is no way I can eat all of it on my own (though I think I'm going to hang on to the Every Flavour Beans, as my toad will eat the ones I don't like, and I haven't treated him to any in quite awhile), so feel free to help yourselves. Thank you to everyone else for the birthday wishes!
Good luck to both teams in the match tomorrow. Can I say that I want a Gryffindor win but for Abby to get the Snitch? I think that's asking for too much. I don't think I'm alone in hoping that there isn't any reason for a player from either team to end up in the hospital wing for as long as last time, spectacular as that dive for the Snitch was. As well, it is still against school rules to vandalise the walls of the castle proclaiming 'Go Hufflepuff' or 'Go Gryffindor'. The trash talking is significantly lower than last time, at least from what I've been hearing, and that's a good sign.
As well, thank you to those students who have been using the library for its intended purpose and not as a free-for-all gathering space. As was pointed out, there are numerous other places in the castle to be for that particular purpose. I enjoy a good round of Exploding Snap as much as the next person, but the common room, an empty classroom or the Great Hall are more appropriate places for something like that to occur.
Enjoy your Friday and your weekend, everyone.
