Look!  It's another attempt to post something more than memes and when something awful happens.

The biggest change in my life is that I have an absolutely fabulous new job!  I'm now a Research Assistant at Jeffrey Slocum & Associates ( www.jslocum.com ).  It's an institutional investment advice firm; what I really like is that the focus is on non- ( Read more... )

We're working on it. I have vague hopes of Thanksgiving, but we'll see how that goes. One of the few downsides to the beagle boys is that if both of us leave town, that tacks a fair amount on for the kennel. On the upside, our kennel is fabulous, and the boys love going there.

It sounds like you held a stiff upper lip and were extraordinarily competent when your family needed you (despite your own grief). It is good (healthy? appropriate? earned?) to follow that with collapsing into a heap -- because you're letting go and letting other people comfort you, listen to you, and EVEN help with practical matters.

Because we want you to be taken good care of. I wish I could be there to help. But your posts give us distant friends a chance to offer support. Thank you!
