Fun with Marvel Comics

I am well aware that, since their inception, comics have been about making money. Good stories and characters happen, but aren't the focus. Maybe that's not entirely true, but I have yet to see evidence against that theory

I've been thinking, and you're certainly the best person I know who may have some insight about this. Back in the 90's I collected Marvel Cards, and from doing a little research I suspect that the series I collected was either series 4 or series 5. Most of the characters I knew plenty about, but there were a few I couldn't find any comics for, particularly Wendigo and Mimic, and I'd always been interested in those guys. Did they have their own series at one point, were they in crossovers, or were they simply used a few times and discarded in the Marvel Universe? I'd like to read about em sometime if you might know which comics they were in.

Oh man! Funny and kinda topical!

There's a deal going on now in Marvel, a series either in progress or ending (I don't follow EVERYTHING) called Dark Reign. There are "Dark" versions of various Marvel teams, one of which being the X-Men. ...And Mimic is on it! Far as I know, he never had his own series and hadn't really been used for at least a decade.

Wendigo was more tied to Alpha Flight and sometimes the Hulk and Wolverine, but before searching for any info on my own, as of right now, I do not think he's ever had his own series.

I'll check on that stuff for you and get an official-like answer in a few days.

...Sure you could do it yourself, but I'd much rather run around for you. I know the best places to look, after all.

I always read it too! I pretty much only have you and 2 other people who update on LJ anymore, but even if I don't update much anymore, I still check every couple days.
