Have not read Spinoza yet. He is a rationalist, which is good (I love you Plato!) but he also is of the what I like to call "dry and virtually unreadable" school of thinkers.

Replace "dry and unreadable" with "a reminder of what hell would be like for a philosopher" then I think your right.
