St. Patrick's Day Comes Early

I made corned beef and cabbage tonight. No, it wasn't the typical boiled corned beef and cabbage. No, it was baked corned beef (actually it was more like a braise) and sauteed cabbage. You can find the recipe for both over at Simply Recipes. Instead of the suggested boiled new potatoes, we had steamed yellow potatoes with butter and fine herbs.

We're doing corned beef and cabbage tomorrow. (Boiled, the traditional way -- slab of corned beef, bouquet garni of pickling spice, much later add cabbage wedges / potatoes / carrots.) We are not originators on the corned beef front.

By the time I'm reading this, "tomorrow" is the past, so how was it?

Mike's corned beef was the best I've ever had. I'm not sure I've ever really had it done right.
