First driving commute in... counts fingers... starts in on the toes... over a decade.
Since
alycewilson can't drive right now, I'm driving to work instead of taking public transit. This makes it easier for me to get home if there's an emergency (although my wonder-wife can handle just about any curve ball our Kung Fu Panda might throw us), and it makes it easier to run the errands after work that she would normally make during the day.
Public transit generally takes me just a little over an hour to make the trip (bus, high-speed line, then rail). Driving took about an hour. I swear half of it was the last half mile before I got on the Blue Route (I-476 for those that don't know the history of the patch of highway well enough). I like the increased flexibility, but it's not much faster, and I can do other things on transit (like TAKE A NAP).
But yeah, first commute in a decade and no road rage. Go me.
