Wooo... 64-bit userland on my laptop

I 'upgraded' my debian install to 64-bit userland, by following this procedure which did not eat my firstborn

Reading through that procedure gave me the heebie-jeebies. :^(

yeah... it was kind of scary/stupid, but it was easier than reinstalling... and I had already made sure I could PXE boot the amd64 installer, incase it went horribly wrong (as was fairly probable)
