Charlotte was born on Wednesday April 16th at 10.37pm after a labour which last 16 painful hours, even longer, 3 days, if you count from when my waters broke on the monday morning at 6am

Omg... reading your post made me cry so much. Infact my maternal side rose a thousand miles just feeling the intensity of the whole thing. I am so happy for you sweetheart. Congratulations to you and your partner, afterall every baby born is a miracle. You have given birth to a beutiful little angle, whom I can't wait to see pics of. My sister will be giving birth at the end of the year. It's all pretty up in the air and exciting at the whole time.
I am so happy to have heard from you. I wanted to know how everything was .. and so on... Now I know, and can sit back with a big FAT smile. Thankyou also for the descriptive post, I sure know what to expect from my sister in the future ;)
*lots of shnuggles to you and the family* Be well, honey.

Thankyou for your lovely response to my birthstory.I had to sit & write it all down as it is a common known fact that you forget all about it in the weeks after the birth, so I am glad I got it down before it slipped from memory. Did I really make you cry? that's pretty cool, I was so teary in the weeks leading up to the birth but happy teary, I had a friend who had her baby 1 month before me & when I saw him & she told me her story I burst into tears, in fact we both did. That's what happens when you put two very hormonal women together in the same room.
I hope things go well for your sister.I'm sure she will have it easier than I did, I bet your excited about becoming an aunt, are you going to be a suport person for your sister?

Yesh. you made me teary eyed. It was a very emotional desciption, plus I think I have sympathy pains for my sis. I'm very close to her. :) It's pretty funky you had a baby close to one your friends, now they have eachother to play with.. . awww :P Oh, I am already an aunty. My other sis (32) has a 1 1/2 yr old.. :) but, yesh... very excited.. (again)... yay! I definately am going to be the 2nd mum around... :) She wont know what to do without me. ... *hugs*
Congratulations Victoria. I'm very glad you and your baby are doing well. Post a pic when you can, I'm sure you are very busy. By the way, my mother's name is Charlotte.
I have been very busy, little one is asleep right now and it's wonderful to have some quiet time to myself, being a mother is alot of work but plentiful in it's rewards.
I have a pic up in my latest journal entry, so o take a look.
I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier. I think it was b/c you posted it as I was going into hopital to be induced and when I finally got online a week later this post must have moved off the page.
Anyway...wow. You did have a very full on birth experience. It was good reading it though I'm glad I read it after mine was over. :) It does make me feel very lucky about mine now though....b/c by all comparison I think I got off VERY easily compared to you. You did so amazingly well and I'm proud of you. I'm not sure I could have endured all that the way that you did.
It's funny how everyones birth experience is very different...even down to the feelings one has afterwards. But the end result is the same...a wonderful new life is born and nothing can compare to that.

i think you a legend for amanging to get online a week after the birth.I was in the hospital for 6 days & the first week home was pretty full-on.
Charlottes birth was pretty frightening in parts & I kept thinking everything that could have gone wrong did, except when it came to pushing her out I was quite proud that I managed it in 1 hour.In retrospect I would have asked for the sintosis much earlier on but they kept telling me to let it happen naturally, but it just didn't.
I was expecting I would cry when she was born but I just didn't have then energy. When I was pregnant I was also worried that I wouldn't have many maternal feelings but I was so maternal as soon as I saw her & very protective, I wouldn't let her out of my sight.
I thought I'd cry too afterwards....b/c when I arrived at the hospital...for my induction...whenever I saw or heard a baby I'd start to cry a little bit...I was just so emotional...lol. After Arielle was born though...I was like a stunned mullet. Just running on 'auto pilot' in a sense. When I called my mum though...I started crying then...but stopped right after.
I was maternal right away...but didn't bond immediately b/c I was so concerned about feeding her and changing her and doing everything right...(which is hard to do with people looking over your shoulder). I only stayed in hospital for 4 days after she was born...which seemed to be ok for me (although at the time I was scared stiff...lol). The nurses seemed to think I was doing ok...(even though I didn't feel like it).
It all seems so long ago now...but it was less than 3 weeks ago. Before I know it she'll be one...eeek!
