It's probably hushed because if people knew how hard it really was then no one would have kids!

I'd really like to read that too.

I didn't bond with Arielle right away....not for a couple of weeks at least....and I felt terrible guilt over it:( PND probably had a lot to do with it b/c I was having horrible thoughts that I'd rather not mention....but I'm happy to say that we're inseperable now...:)

I think because it's supposed to be one of things that just happens "naturally". People assume that women have some sort of intrinsic mothering instinct, which I doubt is true (I know I sure don't) and that that instinct just tells them what to do.
