What is it about those places you can't return to?
More pressing question.
How is there a woman sitting across from Jo who wasn't there before and definitely didn't make any kind of approach before being in her seat?

Jo startled. Shoulders rigid.
A look from the woman to her drink.
Even at four 'r five, she couldn't be drunk.
It wasn't as though she hadn't used her real name.
There was no reason to hide in a dive bar, hustling.
Still. The hand on her thigh gravitated toward a weapon.
Her eyebrows raised, over her beer bottle. "Can I help you?"

Anna knows, of course, about the weapon. But there's no change in expression, no flicker of her eyes to betray that.
After all, what could Jo possibly have on her that Anna would have to worry about?
"That, I suspect, remains to be seen.
"Better question might be . . . can I help you?"

Creepy much?
Jo tilted her beer.
"Thanks. I'm good already."
