So I spend a few hours every morning learning a section of the Talmud dealing with marriage documents (although in reality the main things we've been discussing have to do with divorce and dissolution of marriage). **

i clicked the other sept. 11 agunot cases link, and was captivated for about 45 minutes. what a horrible job it must be to have to "rule" on this sort of thing. my favorite part of the article was the ruling that was done in the holocaust and at 9/11 that it was better not to be strict because a strict ruling might devistate the woman after suffering such a tragedy.

there ya go. rule based on that precident for everyone and your problem is solved.

Oh wow that is different. I always wonder about the widows. There was one from Bangladesh (who was Muslim) who had the first born child (born to a 9-11 widow) and I always wonder if she is still in the US. They never really talked about her too much.

Thanks for sharing about the laws - that is always interesting to know.
